Liberty Lake Internet Exchange announced today a new server backup solution for Small and Medium Businesses (SMB). The LLIX Continuous Data Protection, or CDP, offers nearly continuous backups and can provide disk-based backup services for hundreds of servers simultaneously. The solution includes open file backups, point-in-time snapshots, and restore capabilities.
“This is a strategic new service for us, and it’s a key component of our Business Continuity Infrastructure Services. We have been able to significantly reduce the costs of data backups – often reducing the cost by at least an order of magnitude, compared to the several thousand dollars per server of most commercial solutions on the market today,” said Octavio Morales, of LLIX. “In addition to the financial savings, our solution delivers a full range of features that help our customers ensure data and information availability.”
The product’s most prominent feature, nearly continuous backups, minimizes the chance of data loss should a server failure occur, because the backup server would contain a very recent copy of the data. “The backup service provided by LLIX is one of the simplest and most intuitive interfaces I have worked with. Knowing that I can easily restore our data and our clients’ data from my computer at any time with the simple click of a button is very reassuring,” said Tony DeStefano, Chief Technical Officer of Spokane Web Communications. Additionally, CDP offers up to 10x data compression, allowing administrators to store multiple disk images in less space than it takes to store one copy of the original data.
“With our CDP solution, our customers are finally able to provision the scalable and cost-effective data redundancy that is absolutely imperative in today’s mission-critical Web-empowered business environment. We are please to deliver these Fortune 1000 capabilities to the mid-market,” said Morales.
