U.S. Department of Defense Selects Mobile Armor as a Primary Provider for Data Encryption Software

Mobile Armor, a leading provider of mobile data and asset protection, today announced its selection by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the General Services Administration and the Office of Management and Budget as a primary provider of encryption solutions for protecting desktops, laptops, smart phones, PDAs and removable media storage devices. Mobile Armor’s mobile data security solutions are designed to secure all data that lies at rest in storage on a computer, wireless device or removable storage device such as CDs, floppy disks and memory sticks. The Data At Rest Tiger Team (DARTT), comprised of 20 DoD components, 18 federal agencies and NATO, has approved Mobile Armor’s software and hardware encryption products for full disk encryption (FDE), file encryption (FES) and integrated FDE/FES within all federal, state and local government agencies.

“The White House is increasing its focus on Data At Rest, as it has profound implications on national security. The DARTT’s approval of Mobile Armor underscores the importance of our cutting edge, enterprise mobile data security solutions,” said Chand Vyas, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Armor. “We are honored to be able to serve our country and fortunate to be in a position to provide our government with the technology needed to protect sensitive data and support the military’s efforts to defend this country.”

DataArmor, Mobile Armor’s 32-bit pre-boot authentication, full-device encryption product ensures device data security through revolutionary authentication technology, advanced administration and user-transparent data encryption. FileArmor is Mobile Armor’s centrally managed file and folder encryption and provides an efficient, cost-effective way to extend endpoint data protection to removable media devices such as CDs, floppy disks, portable hard drives and other high-capacity portable data storage devices.

Mobile Armor’s mobile data security solution:

* Meets the most stringent requirements for protecting the Federal Government’s mobile workforce (laptops, PDAs, smart phones, etc.) by securing its highly sensitive data with a security solution that offers high-speed, full-disk encryption, the ability to centrally manage all devices under a single console, an easy path to deployment and low total cost of ownership.
* Provides two-factor authentication at pre-boot, which allows the use of government-mandated Common Access Cards (CAC).
* Enables government agencies to comply with OMB Directive M-06-16.
* Is FIPS 140-2 certified using AES or 3DES encryption algorithms, ensuring the data is secure without user intervention.
* Is designed to integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Windows, Linux, Blackberry, Palm OS and Microsoft Windows Mobile operating systems.
