The Oklahoma Real Estate Commission’s new online service, located at https://www.ok.gov/orec/renewal, will benefit the over 23,600 real estate licensees in Oklahoma. As of July 1, these individuals can renew their real estate license online and view their continuing education hours through this new system.
“We are really excited about providing these services for our customers because in an ‘already fast-paced world’ moving our license renewals and continuing education lookup programs online just makes sense,” said Anne Woody, the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission’s executive director.
This year, the commission expects at least 6,000 real estate licensees to renew online, more than 25 percent of all licensees. This online system will save time by speeding up a paper-intensive process. A typical online renewal takes about five minutes to complete, and licensees can print verification of the licensure renewal at the end of the process. In conjunction with their license renewal, a licensee will be able to change their home address information. After the online renewal is completed, the Real Estate Commission will mail the licensee their license or pocket identification card.
Another added feature is the continuing education lookup section where real estate licensees can keep track of the hours they have completed during the year. Real estate licensees must complete 21 continuing education hours before being able to renew their license on active status.
The Web site and services are a product of a partnership between the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission and OK.gov, Oklahoma’s official Web site managed by the eGovernment firm, NIC (Nasdaq: EGOV).
